The Blue room was the original bar when the Crown & Anchor Inn was licensed. The room was extended through the enclosure of part of the front veranda probably around 1890 when it is believed that the Inn was to become a bank. However this never transpired as a recession in the 1890's seems to have put a stop to this venture. The Wellings family subsequently moved in as Mrs Wellings had grown up in the house. The heritage reconstruction of the Crown & Anchor Inn during the 1990's retained many of the 'layers' of use intended to show the extended history of the building. The Blue room has several of these features including elements of the original paint over the entry door and a preserved 'crack' in the render showing the wall construction and first room colour scheme. The room windows were added slightly after this extension but are of a similar period as the original building and have therefore been left in their 'as found' condition. It is thought the windows came from a building in Pambula. The Blue room has a large claw foot bath within the room in addition to the ensuite (shower and toilet). The original fireplace and mantle have been retained however the open fire is no longer in use. The room has an easterly view towards the Pacific Ocean. The room displays prints by Norman Lindsay.
